Mitchell Halloway, founder of Made By Mitchell is a well-known British makeup artist, TV personality, and influencer with a massive following of over 1.1 million on Instagram.
Prior to launching his own brand, Mitch had worked on several makeup collaborations, gaining valuable experience and insights into what works and what doesn’t in the world of cosmetics. He explains that this gave him a better understanding of what the industry was missing and what was needed.
After four years in development, the brand finally launched in 2020. The brand’s focus is on colourful makeup, offering a range of highly-pigmented blushers, vibrant eyeliners, eyeshadows, and makeup tools. With its emphasis on bold, colourful makeup products, the indie brand is a go-to for anyone who loves to experiment with their makeup and express themselves through bold, creative looks.
I was somewhat familiar with Mitch’s artistry, career, style, and popularity before testing his products thanks to tiktok shop’s coupons, but prior to that I had my fair share of unpleasant experiences due to the brand’s customer service when the brand first launched.
The products from this brand are easily recognizable in my makeup kit as they are distinctly labelled, making it easy to locate a specific shade or item. The neon green/yellow packaging, which initially didn’t appeal to me along side with the brand’s logo (sorry designer’s habit) is gradually growing on me and I find it quite eye-catching.
Blursh
The brand an extensive range of cream and powder blush, contour/bronzer, highlighters, drip drip products called ‘Blursh’. The range offers a diverse selection of shades, ranging from pale beige and light peach to deep ebony, vivid pink, and orange. These products are packaged in a medium to large-sized tube with a doe-foot applicator, which I find particularly appealing due to its precision in product placement.
While I found the contour shade to be moderately pigmented and easy to blend, the blushes were highly pigmented and required a light hand when applying with tapping motions- a tiny amount of product goes a long way. To apply, I suggest using just two dots on each cheek and working on one side at a time. One of the features that I love about these products is that you can create your own shades by mixing and matching on the back of your hand, and even adjust the lightness with a white mixer shade.
Lip & Eyeliner
The All Smudge No budge Liners are my absolutely favourite! Extremely pigmented, long lasting + I use mine on the eyes and as a lip liner when needed and not to mention they are kind to the most sensitive eyes!
I am not going to lie I had big expectations for the lip liners, and to date I am not sure if it was a bad batch, but they didn’t capture my heart. I found them to be not as long lasting as the all smudge no budge eyeliners and drying on the lips when applied all over.
Graph-Ink liner
These liquid graphic liners are packaged in a traditional bottle with a foam-like nib applicator, and the colour options are quite playful, ranging from cotton candy pink and pastels to classic black, brown, and white. While I personally prefer a brush applicator, the nib does offer a good amount of control, making it easier to apply.
These liners are very good quality and come at a fair price point. I have not experienced any issues with crumbling or fading while wearing them, but if you curl your lashes after applying eyeliner, you may need to do a quick touch-up. Looking at these liners alone is enough to spark inspiration, which is a fantastic feature!
